A high school football game at Foothill High School in Palo Cedro, Ca started off on a bit of a different note last Friday. Each player placed an orange rose at the feet of cheerleader Ashley Adamietz.
Adamietz is battling Chronic Myeloid Leukemia and has been undergoing daily chemotherapy treatments. Orange is the color of leukemia awareness. The idea was Senior Ryan Caetano’s, but the whole team was quickly on board. The video of the players surprising Ashley with the roses has become viral, with over 12 million views since it was posted on Tuesday night by KRCR’s Evan Schreiber.
The players, fans, coaches, and students of Foothill High are supporting Ashley throughout her battle in many ways. On social media they are using the hashtag #AshleyStrong to show their support.
